sculpey owl

...and here's an owl I made for one of the neighbor kids for her birthday last year since she was big into owls. Looking at it now I wish I would have spent more time on it and smoothed out the branch better and added lines to simulate bark. I need to practice my script too but trying to write with a thick gold marker on a small ornament was not easy. I could go on picking it apart as I do with all my work but it was a fun project to work on.

  1. I think it's great! I was just looking up sculpey on google and found your blog. I love all your work!

Question. Is that all colored clay? Or did you paint it?

    1. Hi Petrina, sorry I'm late on responding back- for some reason I'm just now seeing your comment.

Thanks for visiting and for the very nice compliment! This was all done with colored sculpey. I've tried just using white and painting it but didn't like how it turned out. It might have just been the paint I tried though.

I found the already colored kind was much easier/less time consuming for me. The only thing is I had to learn to be really careful in-between handling them so the colors wouldn't transfer to each other. Do you work with sculpey as well?
